I don't understand Square Enix's pricing strategy. Digital distribution costs them pretty much nothing. So why price it so high only a few die hards buy it, instead at a more normal price where a much larger volume of customers might buy it at?

Because they don't want FF being seen as a value brand. That makes it harder to sell new games at AAA prices in the future.

I've bought the Windows Phone versions and love them. Original FF made me feel 20 years younger. I agree the price it to high for the average person to buy.
