I think I was in 2nd grade(late 80s) or so, & my babysitter(a stay@home dad) was playing some sort of leisure suit larry type game. The character was in bed with a woman doing his business(very traumatic seeing 8bit pixels in the missionary position), when another guy walks in, pulls out a gun & begins firing at the guy. The guy lives & escapes down the fire escape.
It looked fun, but I haven't seen that game since.
I didn't actually see/use a computer again till a couple years down the line when mavis beacon entered my world.

Yeah. You could play two players and you had to adjust based on power of the throw and how hard the wind was blowing. The two gorillas were on office buildings on opposite sides of the screen and you tried to hit each other with bananas. I used to play it against my friends when we were bored.

Don't forget the original Odell Lake. Just be the Mackinaw (SP?) Trout, and you can eat everything except the bugs, algae, osprey, and otter.
Yeeess that was a great game too. Recently I was trying to find that game with an emulator and couldn't. I did find Oregon Trail though.
They've updated Odell Lake, it's on the Macintosh now. I think they updated Oregon Trail, too, not positive though.

IBM had this 'moon lander' game running..this text game written in BASIC where it 'simulated' a moon lander and you had to enter the acceleration values (AFAIK) of the space craft so it didnt crash
I remember how fascinated i was by these huge machines...like they contained the answer to everything and had incredible calculation powers now at the tip of your fingers/keyboard
HA! Yeah....I remember playing that when touring the GE plant where my dad was a computer operator. This was probably late 70s/early 80s.
Yeah, they have a "GUI" version, but as I recall, you still had to type bang! LOL. My Mother-in-law has it.
Modern version of Oregon trail (Released by Mecc around the time of System 7.0, yes, little kiddies, it wasn't always called MacOS) actually had clicking during the hunts. If the floppy still works, I have the binaries.
My first experience wasn when I was 5 (1989). My mother was given an IBM 286 by her workplace and my father loaded up a game called Math Blaster. My dad soon taught me the basics of how to navigate DOS so that I could start up the games on my own whenever I wanted.
I think I had a Commadore 32 then got a C64. I didn't get another computer until 1991 or 92. I then got an 386sx and Dos 5.
When I was 5 my older brother showed me how to use his Commodore 64. The computer doesn't really work anymore (it'll start up and run programs, but gets an attitude when you start working with disks) but I've still got huge boxes full of disks and some 1541 and 1571 drives, which I assume still work.
