Why don't care, alternative is always good! Otherwise why we needed AMD and nVidia when Intel and 3dfx were once dominating?

Intel, AMD, 3dfx, nVidia. They're all open flatforms, meaning games will run on all of these flatforms. Console is a different story, you cant run a PS2 game on an X-box. Alternatives require a tremendous amount of confidence in the game developers, which I dont think is quite possible. Because the developers currently making games for PS2 are very loyal. I doubt this Indrema will have any strong game support.

just what we need.. another............ one..

not interested in it... Indrema and XBox should stay where they belong.. on PCs

i honestly think we don't need another platform.. no game company would want to make games for like many different platforms at a time..

who cares, why get this when you can use a 500+Mhz CPU, V3, 128Mb RAM, and get better image/speed quality.

I can't see the reason why u guys hate PC console so much. X-box is an excellent idea for standardizing PC games. And above all it is CHEAP. A V5 6000 will carry a price tag of $600, which is more than enough to buy 2 X-box. How many of us are spending thousands after thousands upgrading display card/CPU/memory/mobo just for playing games? I dun really need a super expensive general purpose PC just for 30% of time handling those top of line games, while the 70% remainder are just doing simple task like net surfing and word processing and spreadsheet.

I really don't understand why u guys shoot down the idea of PC console so badly. It will be as capable as the fastest PC system u can build in gaming, handling the general PC task flawlessly while as cheap as an e-machine. It is not going to replace the mainstream home/business PC. For myself, I'll definitely get a X-box or any cheap PC console when they release. I'm tired of spending $600 on hardware annually just for gaming, serioulsy.

I see your point of view, but Linux has very support as a gaming platform. Indrema may be on to something, but it does not have the money or the support of game developers. MS X-Box may have a chance against the PS2, since MS has the money and it already owns a few game developers such as FASA Interactive, Ensemble Studios, and Bungie. Sega is already in financial trouble and Nintendo could be in same boat with the delay of the Dolphin.

<< Sega is already in financial trouble and Nintendo could be in same boat with the delay of the Dolphin. >>

Sega in trouble? Im not sure exactly but i doubt that. They have a huge share of the arcade market. Go to your local arcade and see how many of the cabinets are from Sega.

And about Nintendo...I dont think they are in financial trouble either. They've sold millions upon millions of N64's and a ton more Gameboy's. Games like Perfect Dark help pump a bit of life back into the aging console. Ever play it? Its actually very cool. Its everything that Goldeneye was....and more. Reload animations, different game modes in multiplayer, co-op singleplayer. You can play the entire single player mission with you and a friend helping shoot bad guys. Also there is this cool new game type. You play the main character while your friend plays every bad guy in the game. When your friend dies, he simply respawns as one of the other grunts in the map.

microsoft is going to topple this company. they have done it before (with larger companies) and so i'm guessing it shouldn't be hard with this no-name company

SEGA has been having financial problems for awhile. The arcade market in Japan for them is very bad, and Japan is their bread n' butter. Dreamcast is also doing very very poorly in Japan

As for Nintendo, the n64 has sold pathetically compared to the SNES. GB and Pokemon is what has been good for Nintendo, not the N64. Also, Nintendo has no debt and billions of cash assets.
