I'm proud to have voted for the first qualified person to run for a first-term since Eisenhower.

The fact that this sentence alone tells you unequivocally who I must have voted for should tell us all we need to know about this election.

So you wrote in Weld? Or the new great white hope of the Not Trump crowd (the Utah guy).

Okay, I'm stumped. There have been many very qualified people run for president since Eisenhower. Especially as compared to either of these candidates on a pure resume comparison.

Hey, how can you possibly discount the wealth of huge achievements and accomplishments on illary's resume. I mean, she was married to Bill. And she leveraged that into a career in politics and corruption and managed to make herself wealthy. Those are major accomplishments, she's clearly well qualified ;)

OP's post totally stumps me. Limiting the choices to just the Dem or GOP official nominees, he is effectively saying none of the below were qualified to be President:
-Adali Stevenson (I personally wish for someone nearly as great today)
- Nixon-VP
-JFK-senator
-LBJ (I'll give an asterisk on this because he was an unelected sitting President at the time)
-Barry Goldwater-extremist but qualified
-Hubert Humphrey (see my comment about Stevenson above)
-George McGovern
-Gerald Ford (another asterisk, same reason as LBJ)
-Jimmy Carter-ex -governor, nuclear sub captain, very successful businessman-probably the most qualified candidate that did the worst job as President
-Saint Ronnie Reagan-governor of CA
Mike Dukakis-former governor
Walter Mondale-former VP
George HW Bush-rivals Carter for best qualifications IMO
Bob Dole-one of the lions of the Senate
GWB-TX governor, royal blood
John Kerry-again a major senator
McCain-ditto
Romney-governor

Near as I can tell there has only been one major party candidate in that time where the nearly universal consensus among thinking people is that he is unqualified, ethically, emotionally and in nearly every other regard in that time period and we all know who that it. So OP tells us he didn't vote for Trump, apparently.

I never said she wasn't qualified. But on a pure resume, at a minimum Nixon, H.W. Bush, Gore, Dole and McCain, LBJ, Kerry would all come out ahead.

LOLMAO...it's you guys who think that "being wealthy" is now the perfect criteria for becoming prez.
And hey, at least SHE HAS a career in politics. Your bozo, what "career" did he have? Oh wait, scamming small biz for personal enrichment! What an amazing "accomplishment"...along with his....4000 lawsuits. Cheezus Christ.

This resume?:

Was on the editorial board of the Yale Review of Law and Social Action?

Worked on Senator Walter Mondale’s subcommittee researching migrant labor?

Was a professor at the University of Arkansas School of Law?

Is a former civil litigation attorney?

Served as the director of the Legal Aid Clinic at the University of Arkansas School of Law?

Was the first female chair of the Legal Services Corporation which helps ensure everyone has equal access to justice under the law, despite inability afford it?

And first female partner at Rose Law Firm.

Co-founded the Arkansas Advocates for Children and Families?

Was named twice as one of the hundred most influential lawyers in America by the National Law Journal?

(Btw – such an honor is rarely bestowed upon criminals or incompetents. Just sayin.)

That her entire career has been spent as a strong advocate for families and solid track record includes leading a task force that reformed Arkansas’s education system as First Lady of Arkansas?

That – as FLOTUS – she was instrumental in the creation of the State Children’s Health Insurance Program, the Adoption and Safe Families Act, and the Foster Care Independence Act?

Or who – with her husband – has spent the years since she was FLOTUS – establishing the Clinton Foundation – a non profit whose mission is to help the poor and disadvantaged around the world realize their potential and build better lives.

They also work to improve global health, reduce preventable diseases, create economic opportunity and growth, help communities deal with the impact of climate change – and to increase opportunity for women and girls.

The Clinton Foundation is recognized and highly respected around the world and here in the US – even – grudgingly – by the GOTP -as a tireless and powerful advocate for the vulnerable.

It receives donations from

DONALD TRUMP

Bill and Melinda Gates

The Rockefeller Foundation

The Coca Cola Company

The Elton John Aids Foundation

Anheuser Busch

Hewlett Packard

The Kingdom of Norway

The Commonwealth of Australia

The Government of The Netherlands

The Government of Sweden

To name just a few…

Or who – as Secretary of State – has a solid track record in international relations and policy?

Played a key role in finding and taking down Bin Laden – and authored the agreement that brought the Iranians to the negotiating table for the deal that the entire P5+1 endorsed, along with most of the rest of the world?

Or who is respected and admired around the world

You forgot that she served as the Senator from the state of NY.

I was quoting, not remembering. Having some fun. I do have a bit of trouble, however, with 'the first qualified', but' most qualified' makes sense. My hope now is that if she wins and is freed from the straight jacket that requires a move to the center, she will rocket off to the progressive left. Not holding my breath but hopeful only.

There is no one on the current political field that can hold a candle to Eisenhower.

Eisenhower was the most unqualified President of the 20th century, and an absolute failure. His only experience was military, and his actions there led to many incredible disasters: allowing the USSR to become a superpower, destroying stability in the Middle East to sell out to the UK's oil interests and Israel, propping up a Christian despot in Vietnam, bringing tensions between us and the USSR to all-time highs, and finally creating the military-industrial complex and only warning anyone as the door hit him on the way out. He relegated domestic policy to his VP more than most other Presidents in history so you can't give him much credit there either. "Muh interstate highways", as if the very concept never would have existed without Eisenhower.

Trump is even less qualified, so I can't wait to see what that piece of shit brings.
