the financial raping known as dental work

so I have an impacted baby tooth that broke into may gum...it has to be surgically removed. The dentist I say today said it will cost me 3k to do the removal and implant and it will take about 8 months. Another dentist I saw said he will do the extraction + crown for 1k..have any of you been been in this situation? what did you choose?

there is quite a difference between and implant and a crown
the crown will eventually wear out, probably have to be replaced in like 10 yrs
the implant, i believe will last a lot longer
i have several crowns and a bridge, it is just an ongoing ordeal, every 1-2 years i am getting a root canal or crown replacement, it really sucks

i haven't gotten any implants, yet

my teeth suck
it sucks having bad teeth, good luck

ooops, I meant to say extraction + bridge. I have one crown and I've had no issues going on 10 years...
