I have found that formatting, installing windows, then the 4n1's, then the separate ide driver has made the chronic problems (random shut downs, blue screens, monitor goes to sleep, green lines) go just about completely away.

Tell of your solution to the problems, or lack thereof...

Yeh, but doesn't that ide driver screw you over changing everything to read as SCSI on the os level? Kiss your cd burner software and dvd software goodbye. I chose not to install it because of that...

Well, take this for what it is worth. I never used the CD that came with the mobo. I put the system together, installed downloaded 425s and never, ever had even the slightest problem. I wonder if everyone who is having problems installed originally with the CD and if that is the cause of this misery.

If you read the FAQ at via, you would know they say NOT to install thier IDE drivers with OSR2, or 98. The windows ones work the best.

Which os? You just go to system properties and look up the drives to see what they are labeled as. Yeh, I was talking about Win2K, not the other OS's, and I was also talking about the updated drivers, not the ones from the cd.
