I dunno, but this is bugging the hell out of me. Have you seen the commecial for "The Fast And The Furious:? When the Mopar hits the blue Semi and flips? Next time it's on, notice this:

It hits a semi, flips over, yet the bumper AND undercarraige aren't damaged at all. Not a scratch! I know they use ramps, etc, it just looks so damn fake! And the wheelstand.. GIMME A BREAK!!!

<< Ah yes just makes you want to shell out the 8 bucks to see it ;) >>

One movie I will NOT be seeing until videotape at least.

Thats just ONE out of many many car racing scenes. What did you expect? Its a movie, not real life.

BTW - I will not be seeing this one in the theatre. Not worth the 8 bucks.

the 'blatantly fake' extends to the plot, acting, etc. this is a boy's film,
the more adolescent the better. the trailer is turn-off - imagine 100 plus
minutes of this grating puking nonsense.

yeah?

and in matrix when you look at neo jumping out of the train's way, look at his hands, the wires are so obvious, and you can tell he's holding them.

hell.

They show it twice, AND it reflects off a light source. it's really there if you look for it.

for this and other screw ups check out 'goofs' for movies at IMDB :)

Actaully, you could get a wheelstand out of that Mopar depending on the gear ratio. IIRC, you'd need to run 5:56 gears or lower...

go download the trialer (I think its at quicktime.apple.com )

If you skip to the scene at the end with the challenger, you can skip through frame by frame (left and right arrows) and VERY clearly see the ramp onto the truck, and the stunt driver's helmet.

this is true...I've seen it...besides between me and my father we've owned a 68 superbee a 69 roadrunner 3 challengers (a 340 car a 440 6-pack and a hemi), a 69 dart w/ a 440 a 70 hemi cuda and a 68 hemi dart... and I say again...there AINT NO WAY a RICEBURNER will beat a MUSCLECAR dollar for dollar in the 1/4 mi track

Dollar for dollar yes, but I don't think the Supra racing the mopar in the trailer is prolly modded with the same amount of dollars.

the movie was pretty good I saw an advanced screening of it. But then again, I'm a sucker for modified imports. What I didn't like about it was the amount of stickers they put on their cars...NASTY!

But tuner brandnames are represented (I bet they loved that advertising)

I hate to break it to all of you "anti-rice" people, but the car the guy was racing was a Twin-Turbo Supra, which can wax most old muscle cars.

Trevor

That movie looks pretty cheesy, I will definatly be seeing it.
In europe, most insurance companies for cars charge by the displacement of the car.
Now, if you bring over a big 8, its going to cost you a fortune just to insure it.
Take a 4 and soup it up, it does not cost more money on insurance.

I think the movie will be pretty entertaing, until the plot comes in.

I'm not debating whether or not a Mopar will do a wheelstand, just not like it does in the movie. BOIOIOIOIONNGGGG!!!!

Foolish...

LOL - good way to describe it :)

Fact is - there's something fake and cheesy about every movie. It all depends on how much you know about the subject. Think how many people watched Hackers, and didn't think twice about how credible that 3D OS was (the ones the Security guys used, you know). It's all about how educted you are about what you're watching :)

<< I thought Supra's can be reliably tuned to the 900hp range >>

It can. But the one in the movie has 650 :)
