Giancarlo Granda says his sexual relationship with the Falwells began when he was 20. He says he had sex with Becki Falwell while Jerry Falwell Jr, head of Liberty University and a staunch supporter of President Trump, looked on.

Sex out of wedlock is a grave sin. Just ask any Liberty University student.

Didn't see this and posted to the yacht thread instead.

Basically what we thought was happening...was happening. Evangelical moral crusaders who persecute others are almost invariably doing the things they say are wrong. Do not take any of them seriously.

They're going to be finding evidence of "sexual impropriety" - at least, under their religious standard - by Falwell for years to come. Since I read that lengthy investigative piece about Falwell Jr. over a year ago it was obvious to me that this would happen eventually.

However they choose to blackball Falwell from Liberty U, evangelicals have no moral authority on the entire issue anymore after supporting Trump.

Provided it's true (which it might well be), it would maintain the golden rule of American conservatives: their eagerness to impose sexual prudishness is inversely proportionate to their own behavior. If they're anti-LGBT, they're quietly gay themselves; if they try rail against sex before marriage, they're virtually guaranteed to have cheated on their spouse.

The desire to oppress sexuality seems to be more about controlling others than any kind of moral stance.

Isn't this the same University that had a dating rule because they didn't want their precious little white girls dating those black thugs?

I laugh at all the hypocrisy

I heard Becki is a big fan of the football team there...

Apparently they have very strict rules and a points system where if you accrue too many points (demerits) you get expelled. You can read about it on the Liberty University subreddit.

Because that is exactly how Jesus would run things. The biblical stories of him dishing out the demerits to the disciples are too funny for words. The hi-jinks those crazy dudes would get caught up in. Lordy!

Lol!..He was the pool boy!..It’s hard to get more tawdry and pornhub-ish than that. Next you’ll be telling me Roger Stone and his wife were swingers!

I will give Falwell this tiny concession: that if he, his wife and were engaged in a consensual three-way cuckolding relationship, or hotwifing, or some shit ... whatever floats your boat. It’s not my thing, but unlike Falwell I believe that what consenting adults get up to amongst themselves is none of my business.

And...Blackmailed to support Trump. Really ... There’s no proof he was "blackmailed" into giving his support, but the elements are there....

the problem is that Falwell was publicly a morally righteous religious leader. i agree that people's personal sex lives aren't anyone's business, unless they are a hypocritical public figure.

it's like a gay Republican politician who votes against gay rights, fuck them.

Things like this make it hard for good people to share the gospel when you have the antithesis to it in control of religious institutions all over the place.

You blasphemous heathens need to leave Falwell alone!
All that matters is after he sins is that he confesses his sin and God will forgive him!!
Falwell Jr. was appointed by God to lead that great bastion of conservatism -- Liberty University!
God never makes mistakes!!
Falwell Jr. is the appointed matriarch of Conservative Christianity!!
Bow before your masta!!!

Well, I agree...I certainly don't excuse his hypocritical moral standing. I even made mention of it in the part of my post you quoted. I'm not shocked, as I’m sure most of us are, to find out Falwell is a moral hypocrite.

To him...I guess.... Marriage is a sacred institution, and must always be between a man and a woman, with occasional cameos by the pool boy.

"He’s just a pool boy from a pool family . Spare him his life from this monstrosity!"
