The Exorcism of Emily Rose

Great movie

My only question is why are all the possession/exorcism movies taking place in the states as opposed to other stories around the world? Surely there is more happening aside from the amityville stuff etc.

It would be harder for the target audience (Americans) to identify with a European or similar setting.

Ya but they can convert and make almost any foreign themed movie appealing for american audiences. They do it all the time in war movies.

I saw it in the theatres... Only complaint was the amount of court footage.

lol, that was probably the most important aspect of the movie in trying to get it's message across. The actual possession/horrofic scenery were the add on.

True but I wanted to get scared...

I have it, didn't watch it and most likely won't.
My daughter digs that crap.
She hasn't watched it yet either but she was amped when she saw I brought it home.

Saw it at the theater as well and was very pleased. There was a lot of criticism that the movie focused too much on the court aspect. But that's a key element to the story and I found it was a nice diversion from the "possession" storyline.

Very creepy movie and a good story to boot. Highly recommend the DVD rental if you missed it on the big screen.

te emily rose story was based off a true story about a girl in germany IIRC

they just adapt it to a US audiance
