There is a wierd issue that involves my monitor and perhaps video card that baffles me (not hard to do, true).
Anyway the computer is an old P-100, 24mb RAM with an old Diamond Stealth II S220 Video Card (Rendition chip). I built this machine so my grandfather could check his e-mail and such. Primitive but does its function.
Not my question is - he recently bought a new 17" Monitor to go with this computer (generic brand, Korean from Office Depot) but a week after it was running...the Monitor died.
It was still under warranty so we took it back, got a new one, hooked it up and week later that monitor is dead too.
Still under warranty, but obviously something wierd is going on. Any ideas on what the problem could be? Bad surge protector (although comp was never damaged), could the old video card even be doing this? (It was just running 1024x768 resolution using standard plug and play drivers).
Ideas/suggestion are much aprreciated 🙂
