The ending of Heat :(

I saw Heat again on TV last night and I have always hated the ending. DeNiro's character should have never been killed, especially by Pacino's. A highly skilled and experienced thief should not have been gunned down so easily. Its almost as if Mann's imagination or creativity gave out at the end of writing the story.

It is still one of my all-time favorites. Bank robbery scene rocks on surround sound.

i liked deniro's character best, but i liked the way it ended. the first time i saw it, i was like 'what?!?', but after watching it repeatedly (it is one of my all-time favorite movies) im content with the ending.

couldnt see anything better... deniro gets away, gets on a plane and fly's outta there? or deniro kills pacino? then what? flys away? he left the girl, he did what he said his motto was all along, and it ended at that. i can accept that.

I was just thinking the same thing last night. Wish I had surround sound.

Any other movies out there with gun battles like that? Ronin was pretty similar.
