the end of an era

thats it ! its over

schumachers career as an F1 driver has come to an end.... and what an end

filipe massa, the local hero, won the race in dominating style. alonso did what he needed to do which was score points to become world champ for the 2nd time in a row.

but despite those performances, schumacher simply outclassed them both

he started 10th after his car gave up the ghost in final qualifying on saturday, then on lap 10 he picked up a puncture from the debris left by nico rosbergs huge accident earlier.

he then went from dead last.... to 4th position, executing some awesome overtakes along the way. he was untouchable for speed, posting fastest lap after fastest lap.

the end of the schumacher era is now

its been a stellar career, he's been at the top of the game for pretty much his entire 15 year life in F1, and is still, in my view THE BEST driver (of his generation) ever to hold the steering wheel of a F1 car.

i wish him all the best for his new life outside of F1 (though i expect he will be involved in someway or another in the future)and love him or loathe him his insane talent, genius and seemingly unbreakable mind will be missed thats for sure

thank you michael!

kimi is the only man who can even hope to replace schumi. kimi takes no prisoners and races hard, ferrari are in good stead already for next year.

i hope schumacher dables in other forms of racing. it would be cool to see him in DTM or BTCC and i definately feel ferrari should challenge for the le man 24 hour win, with schumacher behind the wheel.

would definately be great to see him apply his natural gift of driving else where.

word is, his eldest son mike, is racing karts, he has one heck of a role model in his dad!

I won't miss him.

Who else in F1 has had his entire race season erased from the record books and was reprimanded more than once for his racing style.

Good riddance.

Sad fact is if everyone drove like angels it would be boring...

Sure he was a complete w@nker at times, but has been an amazind driver and dominating at periods, and definately in the rain he has been balls to the wall.

I watched today's race and Schumi did one heck of a job. He was last place and came back to 4th. He drove his heart out. I don't think anyone else could have done that.

Hell yeah it was pretty slick driving! fissicello had him held back for a bit though. I think he mightve made 3rd if he didnt take that slow bend, when he was 6th or 7th and he dropped back to 8th cause of it.

We don't know that.

And in the first two races of the '94 season, Schumi beat Senna. And when he died, Senna was on the limit trying to keep Schumi behind him.
