Will the Sprint and Nextel merger bring an end to landlines ?

Since this is the first time a mega phone company has no vested interested in landlines it will push wireless hard and try to end the land line monoply.

I will always want a landline to my home... When I walk room to room with my cellphone it sometimes loses connection completely and drops the call. Which is weak.

Doesnt' matter. Google will decide they want some action and they will start their own wireless service and we will switch over to GWireless like sheep.

Even though a deal means the three largest wireless companies will carry 75 percent of all voice traffic, analysts say prices for wireless calls should continue to drop.

Whil technically not a "land line" VOIP is way better than any land line or cell in my experience.

VOIP requires broadband plus the additional expense of VOIP fee. Not a great deal for people that just want Broadband and a cell phone.
