After all these months of telling him to stop using the crappy M$ os..
THe machine is pretty insignificant.. my old computer..
Celeron 450 Mhz
128 MB RAM
8 MB VDO card
15" monitor
4 GB HDD
SB Live! sound card.

But hey! I'm proud of my dad 🙂 Never mind how he spelt the OS...
edit: he's 61, btw..

It's actually pretty cool. If he just does basic web browsing, email, etc then I can't really see a reason this won't work out for him. Of course you'll be tech-support for life now. 🙂

 

What distro is he using? On a machine like that, I'd assume Mandrake would be a dog.

i've gotten pretty proud that my dad got to troubleshoot his own computer problem a few years back. it's a silly ICS problem or something, i forgot.

oh, and he's 61 too, and he didn't learn how to use computers and internet until five - six years ago, when he decided that he wanted to learn.

Hehe.. true.. He's using Fedore Core 1.
