I cannot believe that my wife has never eat an Elvis Sandwich.

It is the perfect combination of Peanut butter, bananas and bacon!

I'm pretty sure the Elvis doesn't have bacon. It was fried peanut butter and banana sandwiches. They're pretty common in the SE US. You pretty much make a grilled cheese, but use peanut butter and banana slices instead of cheese.

Bacon might be good with the sweet/salty flavors though

Some nut on Food channel went further: dipped the sandwich in a thick french toast batter, crusted it with frosted flakes, and fried the whole thing on the flat top.
