The electricity in my apartment....what is up with this

My apartment building is about 40 years old... I moved in a few months ago and I've noticed weird things wtith the electricity. Notably, the outlet in my kitchen and my bathroom. If I charge my buzzer in the kitchen or the bathroom, it doesn't keep a charge more than about 45 seconds. It could charge for hours, the light goes on that its charging, and it does not keep a charge... if i switch to the outlet in my hallway it charges fine.

what gives!!

Get something like like the Seasonic Power Angel. Kill-a-watt or something like that is what some people use as well. This will tell you if it's running at a higher or lower voltage due to not being wired correctly, etc. Might be useful for your problems, and it is infinitely more useful in others....

Always wanted one of those. You can plug something into it and it'll tell you how much power it's drawing, right?

Yes... And it will give you a reading in a variety of measurements, including VA (good for determining what size UPS you might need for equipment), watts, etc. $35 @ Performance PCs.
