SWTOR. Skyrim, while great, is single player, and too easy. I got all this fancy stuff, and the only thing i can do with it is kill NPCs. In SWTOR, you get to kill other people. Much more gratifying :p

Being single player is why I prefer Skyrim. But each to his own. Not saying you are doing it, but I do get sort of upset when people say "single player" like it is a dirty word or something. Personally I refuse to play MMOs and only play single player or sometimes online components of single player games. But for those that like MMOs, fine. I can see the appeal if you have friends to play with or like meeting up with people on line, neither of which applies to me particularly.

I must admit that the only MMO that temps me though, is TOR, since I enjoyed KOTOR so much, and TOR supposedly has a lot of single player content. But I still dont see how this can really work in an MMO.

I do have mixed feelings though. I want to play TOR because it is set in the same universe, but I also kind of resent that they never made a KOTOR 3 single player game to finish up that storyline.

They are completely different games. If you like single player, go with Skyrim. If you like multiplayer, go with TOR.

SWTOR.

Why? It will last me much longer than Skyrim.

Skyrim was too easy. I made a light armor wearing lightning destruction specialist with infinite mana and was 4-5 shotting dragons before they got to land.

I made a light armor wearing sneak archer and 4-5 shotted dragons before they land.

I made a heavy armor wearing dual wielding warrior tank and was 4-5 shotting dragons when they land.

Why?

Alchemy + Enchantment + Blacksmithing

I have over 100 hours in Skyrim already and havent finished the main quest. So it is not like Skyrim is COD where you can finish the single player campaign in a few hours and have nothing left to do.

You may be able to put many, many more hours into TOR, but it will also cost you same price for the initial purchase, plus the monthly fee. Personally I prefer a game that has a definite ending at some point, not like an MMO that basically is never-ending.

It just comes down to what the individual player likes. But for a single player game Skyrim has a huge amount of content.

Oh, I have an answer. Get the MMO now cuz people are rushing to play it and theres sort of a community. When it dies in a year you will have had some good fun.
Then jump on Skyrim cuz it will be cheaper and they will have fixed most of the bugs. Also the really good user mods will be well established.

This.

the elder scroll games are at their best a year after release. by then, all the bugs have been stamped out (and this takes quite a few patches cause there are SO many considering how huge the game is), and after a while there'll be MANY user mods out for it that'll make it much more enjoyable. Also, the price will drop fast next year as the DLCs come out, its still stuck @ a $60

I just finished that game last night. I loved the ending! :awe: Not sure why people are complaining about it.

Many people, including myself, feel Saints Row 2 was a much better game.

On topic, I had serious doubts about this game and told myself I was never going to but SWTOR. To sum it up, the story and voice acting are both superb and I'm enjoying the game a lot. I'm not sure if it'll have staying power but I'll get my money's worth for sure.

Superior in some ways, inferior in others. People apparently wanted SR2 with the STAG planes and the wacky side of SR3. After playing 3 I can't really go back to 2. I did enjoy the side missions of SR2 more in quite a few ways but eh, the overall experience certainly favors SR3 now.

Anyway to stay on topic I'd pick ES but only because there will be less douche bags in the game (i.e. none). I can't stand online gaming anymore. Way too many idiots playing and I don't have time to find a group to stick with. As much as I love KotoR I can't see myself playing that game online especially when I have to pay to do so.

Yes, thats exactly what I just said.

Oh, and you are correct about the price. I had not considered that. MMO's hold their price if they remain popular, and if they dont stay popular, they dry up an disappear. But Elder Scrolls and Fallout drop a couple months after debut, and New Vegas had a good sale just a couple weeks after it arrived.
