The countdown has begun to the announcement of TESIV!!!

The teaser clues so far:
DAY ONE
Written in huge letters is "IV" and above:
Find him...and close shut the marble jaws of oblivion.

DAY TWO
For Lord Dagon forever reborn in blood and fire from the waters of Oblivion.

DAY THREE

For once the portals are opened, who shall shut them upon the rising tide?

DAY FOUR

His heart's blood bleeds in darkness

DAY FIVE

So long as the blood of the dragon prince runs strong in her rulers, the glory of the empire shall extend in unbroken years.

DAY SIX

And from the womb of the void, who shall stem the blood tide?

DAY SEVEN

Where is the lost dragons blood, the Empires sire?

DAY EIGHT

When the dragon dies, the Empire dies.

Anyone else extremely excited about this??? 😀

Hopefully it'll have more "fun"-ness.
Morrowind was huge, but it got a bit samey and boring after a while.

So whats the ETA for TES IV?

Probably late 2006/2007 in time the Xbox 3.

TESIII was anounced really early in its development cycle too. Not a good idea in my opinion, but I suppose it's the only way to build hype.

this series is the doom of rpg's in terms of pushing limits.
When TES III came out, no one could run it cranked up.

😕 If I could run it on a AXP 1700 notebook with the original 32MB Radeon Mobility with setting dialed down and on a 1Ghz Tbird with a GF3Ti200 with everything turn up(AA off) . . . I don't get it. The game was absolutely beautiful, but it wasn't THAT demanding.

Doom III can do the same kind of thing, I wasnt talking about its low end scaling, I was talking about the peak of its high end. And when morrowind came out GeForce 3's were the highend. And by everything cranked did you mean view distance too or were you running around in the fog, because I ran it on a AXP 1700+ with a GeForce 3, and I couldnt run it "cranked"

another vote for "hopefully better than Morrowind 3".

after a few hours of playing, it felt just like playing an MMORPG except by myself.

Things I will be paying attention to:

- How dynamic is the world? Will I be able to build a keep somewhere dynamically (assuming they allow us to do that in this game)? Will I be able to move things around inside the keep?

- How much skill is required to do battle? Will monsters pose a challenge outside of just their hitpoints and attack strength? Will they use varying strategies?

- How hard will it be to steal? Can I do it in front of a shop owner and then sell it right back to him?

- How hard are traps to open / how much damage will they do? Do they go off if I fail them? Will they do serious damage to a warrior who opens every door without a thought?

- How detailed is the world? Will I be running from template hill to template hill for 72 miles, or will there be some uniqueness over every hill?

- Will I be killable in town? Will guards all team up on me and make sure I am dead if I am a wanted murderer? Will the citizens join together in killing me? There should be risk to being evil.

- How unique are the dungeons? Does every 4th dungeon look the same? Are they more than just 6 rooms chained together with a few hallways?

I think these are the areas where morrowind got weak. My purchase will depend heavily upon improvement in these areas.
