All of you have posted much information and I now know enough to make a good choice that will make me happy.

I was going to buy through N*wegg but they can't even get me the usb cable I orderred last week.

Where do you recommend I buy instead? ZZF?.... Mwave?...... Affraid of Outpost because of their shenanigans with memory.

They're OK, but just OK. They tried to get out of honoring the price they had on some stuff I ordered by phoning and telling me it was a mistake on the website and what the proper price should be. I promptly squashed that bug and got the price they were listed for ;) Overall I wouldn't buy anything from them though if mwave or zzf had it for the same price or better shipped.

Monarch Computers have been treating me right for parts for the new rig I'm building. Smooth as silk.

I ordered a couple parts from Newegg on Thursday and they were at my door the following Monday. That's slow for the egg, but it appears they're catching up - if you do a search, you'll see someone mention that they had a conveyer belt go down and got backlogged by about 15,000 orders. My order from Directron (also made on Thursday) arrived on Tuesday - mostly due to my unwillingness to opt for anything but UPS ground - they gouge you on all their shipping charges.

The fastest turnaround was Mwave - mostly due to the fact that I could drive there and pick up the parts myself! ;)

just do a few googles of the product id and you should get a generous number of listings. shop around. customer loyalty is what they thrive on. force their hand at a truly competitive market. that said.... i think i'm partial to zzf. they know newegg is king, and they undersell 'em every chance they get. plus, play your cards right and get some blanks tossed your way (not a pen or a fvcking t-shirt).

Whatever you do take a trip over to Reseller Ratings.com before you buy. It'll show you the shysters to stay far away from.

Pretty much all the good vendors have been mentioned above, but I like monarchcomputer.com too. And axiontech.com isn't too bad either. One other is excaliberpc.com particularly if you are looking for Abit.

Thank you all!

The Egg has waived the $6 shipping for my order of cable and card reader but it is still stuck at step 2!

Looks like it is time to cancel and start over!

My son is p*ssed off because my chair leg squashed his camera USB cable and now it is over a week later and I cannot deliver a replacement. That puts dear old dad in the dog house. That sux!

I tried CompUSelessA and they had nothing. What they did have, in the wrong terminations, was ~$30. What fools are buying $30 USB cables when the ones that come with devices are just as good and only cost the manufacturer a few dollars?

Too bad about your experience w/ Egg, I have recently had great luck buying components for two new pcs one setup from zzf and one setup from new egg. both were fast and new egg handled a replacement harddrive w/ 0 problems

I ordered a heatsink from them on the 31 and it was on step 2 for the whole week. I called back last Monday to cancel that order and created a new one. They gave me free 1day fedex on the new order and now it's still sitting at step 2 also :( Both orders are shipped from CA btw.

I ordered all my components w/egg, they are awesome. I guess they had flood problems, but even still, my order only took a few days to ship. I even ordered the wrong X800XT (got AGP intead of PCI Express) and they said no returns on website, but they still said they would take it back. that is service.. id just stick it out.

Still, your experience is unfortunate..
