The economy is recovering really well, but the media isn't about to tell you that

The economy isn't "good" until unemployment is below 5%, and it generally takes less than 1 month for people to find another job after losing one.
We are nowhere close to that right now.

The economy is "slightly less shitty" vs last year, but overall, it's still abysmal.

I know we're really slammed. My time sheet currently has 24 regular and 42 overtime hours - I'm working my way to minimum wage! We're looking at possibly hiring two or three people, and given that we're a company of fifteen who never laid off anyone during this recession, that's pretty busy. On the negative side, architects and G.C.s tell me their backlog is lower this year than ever before, but it certainly seems like new projects are simply leaping into the office and we're hard-pressed to meet the workload. Seems like more people are buying too, when I do get out. Subjective, but I think we're finally improving. I don't think this recovery will ever match previous recoveries simply because we import so much more than we export, because energy is so expensive, and because our government burden is so high (relative to our history), but I do think it's likely to keep improving, ever so slowly, rather than double-dipping.

this last year has been very good for me. Im swamped until mid march too with a dangling of projects after that point. At that point i could probably sit on my ass for 6 months. But I wont :)

Yeah most companies wont even talk to you if you've been out of work for 6 months or more. Thats a big part of the reason I'm still unemployed. I started tutoring at my local community college for free. Technically thats work. I still dont know how I'm gonna deal with the issue of "previous salary". Since no one is calling me back I guess I dont have to sweat it.

Yep, there's plenty of growth. Just look at the prices in your supermarket and at the gas station.

It's a conservative conspiracy by all the right wing corporate media in the country like CNN,ABC....The New York Times, Fox News in order to stop President Obama from getting credit for our booming economy and getting re-elected.

I don't think its a planned conspiracy other than reporting what actually sells. Its the same reason the death of a celebrity makes such giant headlines with hours and hours of coverage, interviews and experts all speculating with few facts. Its what people want. People dont stay glued to the TV for good news. They stay glued to the TV for entertainment news or news telling them how bad it is, how to prepare for the worst, and who to blame
