I know we're really slammed. My time sheet currently has 24 regular and 42 overtime hours - I'm working my way to minimum wage! We're looking at possibly hiring two or three people, and given that we're a company of fifteen who never laid off anyone during this recession, that's pretty busy. On the negative side, architects and G.C.s tell me their backlog is lower this year than ever before, but it certainly seems like new projects are simply leaping into the office and we're hard-pressed to meet the workload. Seems like more people are buying too, when I do get out. Subjective, but I think we're finally improving. I don't think this recovery will ever match previous recoveries simply because we import so much more than we export, because energy is so expensive, and because our government burden is so high (relative to our history), but I do think it's likely to keep improving, ever so slowly, rather than double-dipping.
