The dog lovers cat. The Savannah. Wild/Domestic mix.

I'm a cat person myself, and the bigger the better (my full blooded Siamese was 22 pounds and very strong, R.I.P.).

I'm just learning about this breed called Savannah's. They are a mix of the African Serval (which can reach 45 pounds) and a domestic cat (usually a bengal for it's similar design).

I have 2 cats now and no room for anymore, but If I had to choose a new cat. This would be it, The Savannah.

Those look like great cats, but I prefer getting my cats and dogs from the pound.

There are so many animals in those facilities that need and deserve good homes that IMO it seems like a frivolous waste to spend hundreds of dollars buying from a breeder.

Me too, and my two existing cats are "saved" cats (one is a ferrel cat I found on the yellow stripes of a highway as a kitten). But I have always been intrigued by the true full blooded siamese, as I have first hand experience of their strength an intelligence. These Savannah's seem to share alot of characteristics (and some research shows that the first Savannah's were actually breed with siamese).

he personality of the Savannah tends to be very dog-like. They like to be in the middle of whatever is going on. They also like to perch in high places such as on your shoulder, on top of entertainment centers, the refrigerator and on shelves.
Hmmm, my dog never perched on the fridge.

Sorry, but no thanks. And as much as it pains me to point out, even this one will always be more dog than any cat is ever close to being "dog-like."
