So I have an ear infection and saw the doctor. She proscribed some ear drops for me. Accrding to the directions on my prescription I should be putting 2 drops in my eye 4 times a day. The lapse makes me a bit leery about using them in the future (Sure I can figure out that medication for my ear should go in my ear and not my eye but does this mean they aren't paying attention in other areas?

Should I let them know?
Should I put the drops in my eye and then sue?

Call the pharmacy and ask them to read the directions they put on your prescription because you are sure they are incorrect. At least you will get an apology and remind them to keep on their toes.

I would let them know ASAP. I once got a prescription for a penicilin derivative which would have kill -9ed me. Fortunately it was caught by an attentive pharmacist seconds before I got it.

I would definitely call up your PCP and double check before starting it. If you can't get in contact, at least ask the pharmacist/pharmacy
