The Denver Broncos: Broncos vs. Ravens

Who will win? Who the hell knows?

If Saulbadboy or whatever the hell his name comes in here, well...he can kiss my butt. He finally has something to be proud about in K.C. You know what? My brother is a huge fan of K.C....he has been ever since the 1992 season, after the Broncos' devastating loss at Buffalo in the AFC champtionships. I know as well as any armchair quarterback, how suckey the Chiefs will be come playoffs time. Super Bowl? Please. Son, you've got Greg Robinson as your defensive coordinator. He will give up the big plays against teams oriented towards the pass. he may do well against the run, but you just wait and see. The Vikings will run up the score against K.C....but yeah, they'll still probably lose. Wait for heartbreak in the second round of the playoffs.

Anyways, let's talk Broncos. First deficiencies

1)Get rid of Ephraim Salaam at Left tackle. I've hated him for the last 3 years. He compiles the most full start penalties, allows the most sacks, and sucks the hardest out of all the lineman.

2)Deltha O'Neal - He sucks on punt returns, and he sucks at coverage. For the past two years, he thinks that his interception totals allow him to be lazy on defense. F U, O'neal!

3)Special Teams - Can we return kicks for more than 10 yards? Please? The Broncos have not had a good return game since Darrien Gordon was returning punts.

4)Listen...your o-line is the smallest in the NFL. It's great for establishing the run. However, how about setting up some pass protection for your immobile back up quarterbacks?

5)Quentin Griffin is an asset...on third downs. Mike Anderson is a good run fullback, average blockign full back, but a good HB delay back. Doesn't have great speed. This is why you need to use Quentin Griffin a la Steve Sewall. He's got great speed, and on third downs you have the option to run it on third and short yardage situations, or use him on a screen pass. He has the speed to get you that short yardage. HELLOOOOO?! I hate Mike Anderson getting tripped up from behind by slow Lineman.

6)You MUST do this: Acquire Mark Brunell in the off-season. Why? Insurance, and because Plummer needs competition to do better. Brunell is in the mold of a John Elway/Brett Favre. He has faith in his arm, can use his legs when needed, and has playoff experience. He is a winner on a disgustingly bad team. With as many weapons as the Broncos have, if he decides to sign with the Broncos he will end his career on a high note. He believes he is a starter, so give him the opportunity to do so against Plummer in training camp! The Broncos will only benefit from signing Mark Brunell(will be 35 next year).

As for Plummer, he is terribly inaccurate, but is wonderful on the run. Goal line situations should ALWAYS be boot legs for the Broncos. On the other hand, Plummer has not proven himself to be franchise material. His wins have come against bad teams. The running game has fallen along the wayside with Plummer's increased passing. Has plenty of weapons on offense to obliterate all defenses...and perhaps given the chance, he will. Still, he is playing very conservatively. We might not find out how good this guy under is pressure until next year(assuming the Broncos won't make it into the playoffs).

7)Mike Shanahan - Grow some. You need to rip into your defensive backs. They suck. You need to slap some sense into your lazy o-line for letting Beurlein get sacked as many times as he did. You KNEW that he was strictly a pocket passer, yet you allowed him to get sacked, and effectively forced him into early retirement. You see what Bill Parcells is doing? Even though the Cowboys have won against mediocre teams, he is WINNING. Why? Because he gets the most of his players. What the hell have you been doing with Jarious Jackson? Deltha O'Neal? Don't let them waste your cap money with mediocre performances.

I know, I know NOTHING about football. NOTHING AT ALL...these are just some basic oversvations by a lowly fan. I'm voicing the same concerns as ANY devout Broncos fan.

-The Broncos broke my heart in K.C.

die hard broncos fan, die hard here, but dont believe that we are starting our fourth string quarterback.....this is just amazing.

yah but Jarious OWNED Birdhead in preseason (AGAN) and should have been 2nd string before. Shanahan jus doesn't like him for reason

The French phrase, espirit de corps, describes what is lacking with the Broncos. Injuries to the quarterbacks are a big setback, but the real problem is a lack of common purpose.

The Florida Marlins were a united group focused on the goal.

Hey now..be nice up there. As much as I hate the Donkeys, they are the cream of the crop. The only thing I have seen in the past few years is Shanahan loses control of his team, especially after close games. I think you have hit most of the points on the nose though. I'd say get rid of Deltha O'Neal, he is too inconsisent and seems to be one of those "difficult", hard to coach players. As for your prediction of the Chiefs losing in the playoffs..that is what happened in the past, but we haven't seen the playoffs in 6 years, and this is an almost entirely new team. It will be interesting to see what they do this season.
