So I'll flip a coin. Heads it's real, tails complete BS. Call it in the air.

Tails it is.

Seems that post was based on numbers from 2010. So the number of billionaires has more than doubled in 4 years assuming it was based on 2009 figures.

what i posted is obviously old, but i dont think that the top marginal rate increase has brought in more than 5% total revenue this year from last year. i dont think that raising it even higher to 70% would do much other than maybe cause capital flight.

And your point is? Find me one action that fixes everything. The point is its a part of a grand solution.

Show me where Obama claims raising taxes only on billionaires will close the deficit. In fact, show me where Obama suggests raising taxes only on billionaires, period.

This issue is important to you because you paid how much last year in taxes?

doesnt it just show the failure of education systems ran by the anglo american elitists? or is he lying?
It mostly shows that there are a lot of Americans who lack critical thinking skills and will swallow propaganda posted by random people on the Internet. Even worse are the comments. They really highlight the profound ignorance and gullibility of some people.

True, many of them vote for Democratic party candidates believing they're voting for their salvation.........that never has or ever will come. Many are also now addicted to government handouts as well.

Vs what? Those voting for Republicans who want human riding dinosaurs in textbooks and elimination of programs except for those that benefit them? Hope vs intentional ignorance and hypocrisy.

Well if raising taxes is not enough, and there are zero cuts that can be made (see: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IEmCNrNW77I ), we have a problem.

So how does the government act responsibly? Can't cut anything, according to the progressives. Raising taxes is insufficient according to basic math.

No no. Please, tell us fatcats about your overwhelming tax burden. We desperately want to know how the increasing taxes are hurting your livelihood. Help us empathize with how you have to make cutbacks in your budget to keep the same standard of living as before.

Gawd. The only reason that people are "addicted" to govt handouts is the failure of the mighty Job Creators! to live up to their end of the social contract &, you know, create jobs & pay decent wages. It's the same thing that happened in the 30's, just to a lesser degree because the govt did a better job of reacting to it. They sure as hell didn't do much to prevent it during the Bush years.

End Govt dependence? Great. Where the fuck are the jobs so that people can do that?

Big companies... Believe it or not... were all small companies at one time. How about reduce burdensome regulations that prevent the small entrepreneur from growing their company. No I guess it is better for everyone to just make McDonald's pay all of their worker 18.75 per hour.

What regulations would those be?

And the American people have lived up to their end of the social contract by purchasing only from American companies to support those decent wages or did it end up more like this:

he didnt. i do, however, still think that he either cant do basic math or is trying to increase class warfare.

if the u.s. govt took 100% of all wages, salaries, and cap gains over $250k it would still not close the deficit. and it shouldnt be taxing anyone in the first place.

Boy, that's an extreme oversimplification of the issue at hand that only looks at one small aspect of it. It just shows how little you actually understand what's going on, especially since you seem so proud of the fact that you can do basic math.

The issue is much larger and more complicated than this by far. Also, most reasonable economists and Democrats have openly stated additional taxes on wealthy individuals might add 2% revenue or so without being prompted prior as if they were trying to hide that fact. It's just one teeny-tiny piece in a connected web of all sorts of shit that most have trouble comprehending, so Republicans act like this one often-recognized point is some sort of "Gotcha!" when anyone intelligent recognizes it for what it is and can start to connect it with other information for a better understanding of the issue as a whole.

Duh-version, huh?

Of course. You do have a bit of a point, even if its true meaning escapes you. You discount both leadership & power as if they don't matter. I'll agree that the powerful have led the citizenry to believe and act against their own interests, no doubt.

OTOH, what you believe exemplifies the successful results of those efforts.
