I've had a MAG 17inch LCD (1280x1024 max res) for a few years now and really want to upgrade. I plan on buying a new monitor with my new PC in a few weeks but I've got a few questions.

I always thought that 16ms (the response time it lists on Dell's site) is bad for gaming? Will the low contrast ratio (800:1) be a problem with movies/gaming? I'll be using my Xbox 360 on it and with my current monitor everything is dark and its hard to play on. Will I have the same problem with this new monitor? Anyone have any problems with it? Any opinions on it would be very much appreciated!

Thanks.

I got this monitor a month ago. Gaming is not a problem for me in terms of ghosting even though its 16ms. Many people have also complained that at first, this monitor is too bright but you can change the settings so Im sure that wouldn't be a problem. If you decide to get it, make sure its an rev A02 version as there are banding issues with previous versions.

It's FPW

Also if you don't need all the extra features, the Viewsonic VX2025wm is worth taking a look at. Last I looked it was $329 with free shipping at the egg.

One thing I'm worrying about is that on my current monitor (Mag 17 LCD) is that blacks are so dark I can't see.

When I'm playing GR:AW, if its a night map, I can't see 2 feet infront me. All the games are dull and dark. Will this monitor be better? Will it still have these issues? Are they common on all LCDs?

Thanks.

I really like my 2007WFP and have since I got it. I play games on it. I have no input latency and no blurring.
