oh great an article from a rag with the integrity of a tabloid. well even less, since celebs don't wield the power of office.

I'd be infriated if you were in the WHPC too........ ;)

hahahaha, good one. :)

Actually, one day I'd really like to be in the press corp but not as a reporter. Former teacher of mine was a photographer during the clinton years-even won a pulizter for her coverage of it. I'd love to be doing that eventually.

edit: I take that back. She was working for AP but covering the white house excusively. Either way, I'd take the job. :)

Leftwing or not, did you see how he handled the enron problem? I don't remember it word for word, but he was asked when the president first heard about enron having problems. His answer was in August. The reporter replied that enron hadn't asked for help until december. Ari was caught in a lie. He's an ass and after hearing that, I have no trust for the administration, especially with him keeping america informed.

EDIT: That article is just muckraking crap. Just listen to him (Ari) and you'll see there's not an honest bone in his body.

The New Republic is hardly a left leaning publication. They are fairly balanced. They published Clinton critiques, supported oil drilling in ANWR, post criticism of the Palestinians. It's actually one of the more thought provoking publications around.

I also browse through right-leaning crap too :)

Here is one from Washinton Times:

Article critical of Farm subsities

Don't be so naive the press secretaries job is lie (spin) to the reporters. The reporters are all left wing kooks who will write a right wing bashing piece anyways but I guess we have to dance.

You have GOT to be kidding me. If you call TNR balanced and not left leaning, you're more deluded than I thought.

Pennstate, I wouldn't worry too much about being more deluded than Amused thinks until we actually determine just how deluded his thinking is.

It is the reporter's job to spin [lie] about what is said so as to get a story. They ask the same question so many ways any human being would get caught in a mistatement [lie] sooner or later.

That's politics. Get used to it...

But Tominator, what kind of person or what kind of mind actually sets out to distort the actual facts to make them look or sound better for this or that party or personal adjenda? How does that serve truth and why would somebody aim for less?

I have no problem with spining as long as it's not lying. What Ari is doing is as bad as clinton's depositions. But Ari does it everyday.

Not the Press or Congress nor you or I have all the pertinant facts regarding any happenings regardless of their circumstances. Knowing the facts might just alter our perception don't you think? But knowing them might also arm both political and military foe.

Every Press Sec in history has spun the facts to protect their own party.

Clinton lied in a Court of Law.....where is the equal here?

Lie to the press and get it spun into something bigger? Oh come on! The Press has been lieing to us since man put print on paper!

Tominator, I hadn't noticed myself defending Clinton. My question is was how can it be a good thing to lie about that portion of truth you do know to protect yourself from a political foe. The political foes of our polititions are their fellow Americans. In a world where we progress through the competition of ideas and, naturally, accurate data on the effectiveness of those ideas as practiced, how is society at large served by lies. How does a party put its own interest above the interest of the common good? You remind me of relativists whose notions of truth shift like the sands.
