Exactly 1 year ago today (october 5 2000) I bought a hercules Geforce 2 MX for $179 canadian. Oh the games we played... Quake 3, sacrifice, tribes 2, Max Payne, Wolfenstein test to name a few. I even put in a little fan myself and overclocked him. It's been the best card a guy could ask for, but i think it's time he went away
What should replace it? I was thinking Raedon 8500 for 2 reasons...
#1) A bit cheaper than geforce3 and a tiny performace advantage
#2) I fell the need to support a canadian company.
Any thoughts? Are there cards coming out in the next year i should wait for?
If i got a 8500, would that be sufficient to play planetside, star wars galaxies, doom3 and quake 4, DNF, unreal 2 and team fortress 2(if it ever comes out)?
thanks guys!
