Tonight is the premiere of the new series The Dead Zone, based on characters from a Stephen King novel (and a damn good novel it was.)

I hope the USA Network does a good job with this. Another good SF/Fantasy show is always welcome.

It should be cool! I'm happy to see Hall back :) I've been a fan since Weird Science.

This should be good. Several of the scripts have been written by people who wrote for Star Trek TNG.

They will have a hard time convincing me that Anthony Michael Hall is Johnny, though. That role belongs forever to Christopher Walken, who gave an unforgettable performance in the movie.

The motion picture was great, I can't imagine there is a lot of potential for a series based on the premise of the book. Like Stargate SG whatever, the first five episodes will be great and different, the rest will essentially be repeats of the first five and the writers will be grasping half-way through the first season.

Why King feels the need to fix what isn't wrong I'll never understand... Dead Zone - the movie was perfect the way it is, even The Shining was ten times better than the mini-series that followed it...

Loved the movie, and could actually relate to it a little. I wasn't aware that they were doing a series so I'll have to check it out, thanks for the info!

You know what else might be a cool concept for a series? One based on the movie Dreamscape. (Maybe there is already one, I dunno... I don't watch a whole lot of TV.)

Saw previews for this on TV. Interesting concept (I liked the movie, have not yet read the book).

However, I have so little faith in USA Networks to do anything decent with their 'original programming.'

I will check it out though. :)
