One of my jobs this summer is working for my friend's stepdad who is a full-time carnival food salesman. I put in extremely lengthy days for him at carnivals around the country (today was a 16 hour working day) and make between $175-225 cash under the table for each day I work... plus he pays for all of my food, gas, hotel rooms (when needed) and other incidentals. It definitely pays better than any internship or summer job I've found, plus I do it in addition to my regular job.

Anyhow, today I was working in his popcorn and cotton candy wagon, and I must've made about 700-800 bags of cotton candy. The trouble is that while you're making the stuff, little wisps of it float through the air on whatever breeze is coming through the window, and it ends up in terrible places. I am now suffering from "sugar boogers" (each of my nostrils gives a different bright color of snot when I blow my nose). My eyes are also dried to sh!t. Any time a wisp of cotton candy hits my eye it instantly melts and I'm left with sugar in my eye. Fvck I feel like I have an awful headcold.

The next time you're at a carnival and you or your kids want cotton candy, be nice to the guy selling it. He probaby feels terrible and just wants to go home.
