The CW's Flash TV series, *Now with Extended Trailer*

I have it on DVD. John Wesley Shipp, who played Barry Allen/Flash on that series, is going to be playing a recurring character on this series. Speculation seems to be either Jay Garrick or a police captain mentor.
 
I saw it earlier and the 5 minute preview looks pretty good. It looks like they focused heavily on content from only a few episodes that involved The Flash fighting against Weather Wizard (pretty sure that's who that is). But I'm digging the Star Labs girl that was in the Arrow crossovers. :awe: One thing that I noticed is that the CG effects seem a lot better than they are in Arrow. Arrow's season finale had this one particular scene with a helicopter and a rocket launcher, and the CG effects were... pretty bad. They were maybe a step above Smallville's stuff. D:

...and here I thought I was one of the few people that actually watched that show, which wouldn't be surprising given its poor ratings! 😛 I own it on DVD as well!

EDIT:

The one thing that I am worried about is that it will have the same faults as Arrow. Arrow isn't a bad show, but there are some really cringe-worthy bits of dialog in episodes. Couple that with how some of the actors really aren't that great, and it can be really off-putting. I saw some of that in the trailer, which does worry me a bit.

Professor Zoom is also in the extended trailer. Andthe 'Star Labs Girl' is Caitlin Snow, aka Killer Frost. I'm hoping we see some of Flash's Rogues Gallery in later seasons.

Heh, people on Demonoid were seeding my DVD rips for it for several years. Got PMs asking me to reseed it as recently as 2010 or so.

Yeah, I decided to omit Professor Zoom since
it appears that he is the one that kills Barry's mom
, and I assume that bit will be an over-arching plot point that drives the series for a while.

Yeah, I know who she is. She was introduced on Arrow. ...and it's okay, she can still be a cutie even if she wants to be the next Frozen. :awe:

pretty good trailer, film quality does look a bit better than arrow but that may be in part due to them keeping arrow with a darker feel.
 
I am really looking forward to this show. I loved the one from the 90's and was disappointed when it was canceled.

They were originally going to do a backdoor pilot on Arrow for The Flash, but they decided to just do a full-on pilot instead. So, they were originally alright with a superhero being on the show, and that's important since the whole debate seems to be whether they should keep Arrow more "grounded" or not.

I think you may see a cross-over episode or two, but they'll probably largely keep them separate. Comic characters don't usually cross over that often in their comic books, and it's more common in special runs or combined series like Justice League.

She made Piranha 3DD slightly more worth watching :wub: ...and that says something given how terrible that movie was! 😛 ...and that says something given that I really enjoyed the first one!

Barry, pre-lightning bolt, has already appeared in a 2 part episode in season 2 of Arrow. And both the teaser and full trailer show Oliver Queen and Barry Allen talking to and interacting with each other. I'd say its a no brainer there's going to be some crossovers between the shows.

On a side note, this could be good for DC. Use their TV series to build their live action cinematic universe, since their big screen productions are haphazard at best.
 
I will watch as long as his costume is cgi. Not impressed with the shots i saw a couple months ago.

Thats a valid point. The 90s Flash series had regular clothing ripping to shreds and his shoes catching fire after a short time at super speed. I hope they do show a little of this in the series, that he can't fully utilize his speed outside of his costume.
 
Someone leaked the pilot episode for CW's The Flash. Obviously, I won't post any links, but I'm sure you can find it if you really want to see it.
