Fantastic movie. When David Fincher and Brad Pitt get together it's FUCKING MAGICAL. They're 3 for 3 with Fight Club, Se7en, and now Benjamin Button. Radically different movies pointing to how diverse Fincher is as a director and Pitt can be as an actor.

Good point. I didn't realize the correlation between my three favorite Brad Pitt movies.

what, no 12 Monkeys?

also, Thelma and Louise was quite excellent.

River Runs Through it...

Hated them all.

(actually I just haven't seen those)

no 12 monkeys? really? Terry Gilliam? based on those that you like it's certainly right up your alley.

Ridley Scott doesn't make bad movies, so you'd probably like T&L more than you'd expect. same with R Redford and River Runs Through it... ;)

We saw it last night. It was a good movie, but I can't say it was the best I've seen in a while. It was a bit slow and, as others said, about 30 minutes too long. Overall, I enjoyed the movie and would recommend it.

The lightning scenes were hilarious.

I'll be seeing this on New Year's Day. Been a Pitt fan ever since 12 Monkeys, which is an awesome movie.

that the one where he goes back in time and tries to stop some event? I really do not remember. I thought the movie was alright, but Brad Pitt was really good.

Just came back from seeing this. Quite an amazing movie. I knew going in that the director also did Seven and Fight Club, but I didn't even notice his style. Brad and Cate were damn good, and you could really feel for everyone. The best part is that the story wasn't tragic. Everything felt "done" and complete.

Just a funny thing. Even after the screen showed the "feature presentation" splash screen, I thought I was still watching a trailer for the first few minutes of the movie.

Looking back on it I felt the movie was pretty long, but that I wouldn't have really cut anything out of it. If they cut much more than 10 minutes from it I'd feel cheated out of seeing certain ages of his life. It was pretty damned long but it kept my interest the entire way through without me checking my phone for the time, so the length doesn't really bother me all that much.

For those that say it is X mins too long, what parts would you have cut out to explain that reasoning or did it not fit the mantra of your expected viewing times? Personally, I can't think of anything to cut out.

Personally I did not realize the movie was long until about the very end but this movie unexpectedly had my mind engaged throughout except the ungripping beginning. I really expected to figure out what the short story of the clock maker and the backwards clock had to do with the whole story but I feel it is just a simple correlating short story with the whole movie. The titluar character really didn't do much come think of it and I noted that he is simply experiencing life from birth to death, observing and watching.

The ending point he had made wasn't as concrete as it should be due to not of a strong examples he has experienced throughout his life but it is a point that I feel is quite good but it really only applied to Daisy.

The lightning scenes are indeed the moment breakers that I feel were placed intentionally as without them, this would be a slow movie. They were also placed at uneven breaks too, possibly played by the same actor as well (didn't catch the credits in full).

It is an intriging movie that I didn't expect. A definite recommend to watch.
