check out wired news, they had a story on this about a week ago, and theres also a couple of hacks for this thing as well as linux drivers. the first thing i recomend you do is to disable the id number on your cat, that way they cant "profile" you.

It's a barcode scanner that links to a database. Basically, the concept is this:

1) You pick up November's Playboy, & scan the UPC.
2) Your browser opens up playboy.com

People are using them as a free barcode scanner for db entry, inventory, etc.
