is that 3 suites for 6k?

We wish! The $6,000 is for 1 oceanview room (no balcony) & 2 interior rooms.

Did we get ripped off? Should we cancel our reservations by midnight tonight and try bestpricecruises.com tomorrow?

I dont wanna be the one that ruin your family vacation, if thats the only cruise you can get, I guess its worth it.

just did a quick check, did you check out the NCL dream leaving out of Houston? inside is like around $800 included fees and taxes, smaller and older ship thou.

wait a min, how can a ship leave out of houston?!

 Hmm... maybe it leaves from Galveston...?

I didn't see anything about the NCL dream, is it $800 all-inclusive for an interior room for 7 days? I think we could save ~500 if we switched to that one, do you have a link by any chance?

Insurance is not included, we opted out of it. :( Is cruise insurance important?

Well put it this way if someone in your family gets hurt either onboard or onshore during the cruise and requires an evac from the ship the helicopter ride itself starts at about $10k. They will bill you immediately for it.

I've seen people that had no insurance experience serious financial hardship because of this. Definitely worth it and for seven days should not be more than about $70 pp.

Oh my goodness! I guess it's better to be safe than sorry, plus we're already paying so much anyway... I wonder if this was a hasty decision, and if we should cancel tonight/try rebooking tomorrow for a better deal. Hmm.

Don't let the fear mongering press get to you.

Norovirus is really no different than computer malware. It just doesn't happen. People come onboard that are sick and that's the problem.

Insurance is highly recommended though.

Most insurance will pay for the price of the cruise if you have a med emergency BEFORE the trip and cannot make it.

Problem is most do NOT get the insurance and decide to get on the ship anyways. :|

That's bad because they can spoil everyone's vacation AND make those who work so hard to make their vacation enjoyable in the first place sick. :(

You could charter a 40' sailboat for half that. Man, forget about cruising around on a freaking 300' hotel. I'm proud to say I've never gone on a cruise ship and I don't think I ever will.

Sorry but you don't know what you're talking about AND don't know what you're missing. :(

Interesting, those "bonus points" aren't available anywhere else. Being able to get free insurance would be great, and it would save us ~$420.

That ship was the same as the Rhapsody of Seas that I went on with my first cruise. I had a blast. Plenty to do.

BTW-don't bother getting the dial up internet service in your stateroom, you'll end returning it for a refund. That is unless you like hearing the analog modem re-connect every 45 seconds. I guess Royal Caribbean never heard of something called a LAN.
