very true.
I always got a good laugh out of it. It has the serious lesson theme from the "simpsons" and the randomness of "family guy". Sort of like the best of both worlds.

Ugh, no! That's what kills the humor in the series. Ratings are down? Give him a girlfriend with a disgustingly cute daughter. Too saccharine.
 
I never really paid that much attention to his personal life though.

I always found the movies to be the funniest part of the show. Parodies beyond parodies. Many were pretty damn funny.
