Ok, it looks like this thing is finally live(or the server I play on finally joined it)
I think its kind of intersting. It looks like next week the Desert Eagles will cost more than a SMG. I bet the week after that they will be cheaper than a glock because no one will be able to afford them. This really changes the pistol round tactics quite a bit. I usually suit up with ammo and some kevlar while everyone else spends money for a DE. This won;t happen any more. At least for another two weeks until the big price drop.

You can watch the markets here

I don't think this is going to be any different from the beta, where the deagle quickly reached $4000 and the AK and M4 were over $5000 or so. Maybe I'll be proved wrong in the long run, but that's the future, and this is now ;)

Well if you consider most every server(at least the handful I play on) ban AWP, yes the price will drop because no one can buy them, more money would be spent on the scout.

That's fracken crazy. How long did the prices last at those levels?
You'd think they be crazy high for a week or 2 and then take a major dive in price because no one can afford them.

I think the price resets once every month or something. I don't know...or maybe not...

We'll see...

Honestly dont even notice. It may because the servers I play on are usually very nice on the cash.

It's a neat idea, but I think ultimately most server admins will just disable it. It will probably just massively inflate the price of 3-4 guns (and armor) and lower the price of the rest by an insignificant amount.

A lot of servers have admins that will just hit people up with 16k cash reserves also. That means people will pay even inflated prices for the m4 and ak47 and help skew the whole system.

Unless you're on the losing team and therefore broke all the time.

Its kind of an interesting idea. I like it because despite the fact CS has a decent selection of guns, in practice no one buys anything but the DE, AK and M4. Its fvcking boring. At least this might mix things up a bit. Besides its an option, so server admins don't have to use it if they don't like it.

Kevlar + Helmet and Deagle prices are through the roof. Colt and AK prices are still climbing as well. Most of the other stuff is down only 1-2% or even half of a percentage point.

I'm not lovin' it.

I think it needs to be revised. Although it's still too soon to tell.

Yep, this is one of the main reasons I don't play much anymore. People didn't appreciate me running with dual elites or one of the little uzzies after the six or seventh round. I was just trying to make it interesting... :)

The day it went live, it was disabled on my server. Why? Personally I think it is retarded, since when do Counter-terrorists have to buy weapons off the black market? Not that CS:S is overly realistic anyway. I put NO-DWP in my server title and have been pulling in people that hate it as well, so it has been a good thing for me in that regard.

mp_dynamicpricing 0 is the cvar for anyone interested.

I think they should just tweek the prices themselves instead of making some flawed formula to do it.

I think they need to modify the guns besides AK47/M4/Deagle to be better so people will actually use them.

Nah, it's ok for some guns to be better than others. That's the whole point of the money system in cs. If don't have enough money for the best guns, you have to settle for other ones. The only guns I would like to be improved are aug/sg.

I never really liked CS's money system. Its an ok game and I understand the balance through cost concept...but I hate how the losing team is double punished and the winning team is double rewarded. Its certainly possible to bounce back, but given how so many maps are already one sided it just makes the game even more of a slaughterfest for the weaker players.

I always prefered all weapons being balanced with eachother and no money system. Lets not even get to far into how its not realistic (I know cs isn't realistic) since I don't think they train counter terrorists and then tell them they have to earn money by killing terrorists before they can buy body armor. :p
