The Corsair 850hx power supply is oos everywhere. What gives?

It has been oos for weeks now. Does anyone have any info on this? Did they just simply run out or is there a defect that caused them to be pulled from vendor shelves? It practically happened overnight.
 
850HX was the first of the HX series if I recall. They are probably getting ready to roll out a new revision/series and it makes sense to replace the oldest model first.
