The Coolest AMD CPU

Im on a quest. I want to find the AMD Socket A cpu that runs the coolest. my guess it would be probibly XP 1600+ or one of the Duron Cores. The resion I'm looking for a cool AMD CPU is because I dont want to spend a fortune buying cooling for it.

i would vote on a tbred b, 1700+ DLT3C cause they run at low voltage and are one the .13 process...

100% correct I believe.

1700+, you can run those at 1.6ghz using only 1.4 volts, SERIOUSLY cool running processor.

The coolest running AMD Socket A cpu would probably be a Duron 600.

there's a thread here somewhere that took a 1700+, underclocked it and used only passive cooling on it (just a heatsink) and temps were VERY reasonable...

The coolest of all is the 600MHz Duron, at 24.5W typical. For all the numbers, here's Sandpile.org's K7 section. In those ranks, SF means Spitfire, the code name of the 0.18-micron Duron core. TB means Thunderbird, TH is Thoroughbred, PM is Palomino, MG is Morgan (newer Durons), and BT is Barton.
