The Contender - Season Two

I liked the first one better to be honest. Everyone expected Mike Clark to whoop up on K-9... but K-9 stomped him for 3 rds and knocked him down in the 5th. He looked much bigger than Michael too... that's what that fool gets for talkin smack - gets whooped by the last man picked. K-9 all the way.

I caught the second half.

It seems like a great show. I don't know if it's the editing, the music or what, but the matches are much more compelling than live boxing. I heard good things about season 1, but I never watched it. I may start watching season 2.

10PM EST on ESPN

The ring announcer still annoys me for some reason. I think it's because he's obese and has that gruffled voice like he's got a chicken wing stuck in his throat.

I don't generally like those reality shows, but the contender (season 1) was very entertaining. I'll be watching season 2 as well.

it's one of the most frustrating shows i've seen in my life (as a boxing fan). If i have to hear one more fake punch land sound, i'll kill myself. the dramatization feels even more this season than it did last season. guys get hit on the shoulder and the sound they put makes it sound like it's a knockout punch to the body.

They replay it over and over again on ESPN2 until the next new episode. The Contender for ESPN is like Real World for MTV.

i love this show. i even love how they edit the fights because now i know what was a good hit/punch/whatever. it's the showing of the families that sucker me in - some of them have REALLY cute kids.

What the hell was Torres doing in that fight? He seemed more concerned about what was happening in the stands, than in the ring.

Isn't this season 3? And that fight was pretty poor...I don't know much about their backgrounds, but neither played much defense (the hispanic guy a little) and it looked like an amateur slugfest. I'm surprised at who won though (no spoiler!).
