There is a quote that comes to mind that is of some importance to me. And I think of it any time people talk about things getting bad, and about the Constitution being torn up, and our rights taken away. This is the quote:

"Will the Constitution be destroyed? No; it will be held inviolate by this people; and, as Joseph Smith said, 'The time will come when the destiny of the nation will hang upon a single thread. At that critical juncture, this people will step forth and save it from the threatened destruction.' It will be so." (JD 7:15, Brigham Young, 4 July 1854)

I've done a lot of thinking the last few days as we have been debating some political topics. I believe the United States is here because God had a hand in inspiring our forefathers to create it. They rebelled from tyrants and were able to create a land of liberty. It's a place where people could be free to speak and worship how they wished, without fear of kings or tyrants.

I know things will get a lot worse before it gets better. But I KNOW that in the end, LIBERTY will prevail. The people will be heard. Yes, the nation will hang upon a thread, but it will be saved by the PEOPLE. You may not think the same about Brigham Young as I, but even if you write him off as a "wacky Mormon", he was a wise man -- I believe inspired by God.

I believe John Moses Browning was a man inspired by God. He created tools that would help us to defeat tyrants and those that would take away freedom.

I believe, more than anything, in free agency. We are all free agents -- EVERYONE in the world. And everyone has the right to make choices to do whatever they like. Many in the world are supressed by tyrants, but at this point, we are the most free society in the world. If it comes time that we are no longer free, and the Constitution is comprimised, "hanging by a thread", I know we will step up and fight tyranny, by whatever means necessary, with words or with arms.

In the end, we will be free.

Yes, Jesus loves me!
Yes, Jesus loves me!
Yes, Jesus loves me!
The Bible tells me so.

Complete control was never possible because total surveillance was not feasible. As technology allows for more pervasive surveillance, as well as provides the tools to analyze that data, we're getting closer to the critical point at which we will either become an enlightened society, or sink into fascism the likes of which the world has never known.
