functioned as a paramilitary organization of the National Socialist German Workers' Party (or Nazi Party). It played a key role in Adolf Hitler's rise to power in the 1920s and 1930s. SA men were often called "brownshirts" for the colour of their uniforms (similarly to Benito Mussolini's blackshirts).

The SA was the first Nazi paramilitary group to develop pseudo-military titles for bestowal upon its members. The SA ranks were adopted by several other Nazi Party groups, chief amongst them the SS, itself originally a branch of the SA. The SA became largely irrelevant after Adolf Hitler ordered the "Blood purge" of 1934. This event became known as the Night of the Long Knives. The SA was effectively superseded by the SS, though never formally dissolved.

This is not likely to be terribly effective as propaganda. For a "teen" magazine, it curiously has little to do with things that are of interest to teens in general. Instead, it's all about politics. Good propaganda would mix and interweave the two. Rather, they present something that the average teen of any political persuasion would have no interest in reading. Furthermore, with the exception of the abstinence issue, the political topics chosen in that issue have no special relevance to teens. It's just generic conservative writing that you can find anywhere online. So the one issue that is of special relevance to teens is basically this message: don't have sex.

I wish them all the luck in the world in persuading anyone not already converted with this sort of thing.
