Many thanks!

You're welcome.

I was shocked at how many people don't know this.

Carol Ness at the San Francisco Cronicle agrees with you. Word for word in fact. (bottom of page)

Yes, I know. I posted that info to help people make good choices.

What's with the rolling eyes? Is it bad to help people choose good whole grain breads over fake colored bleached breads?

It's customary to give credit to the source when you steal material from them.. rather than to pass it off as your own.

I didn't pass it off as my own. Anyone who knows me here would clearly know I didn't write that.

Sorry I didn't provide a link... but I never do when posting news stories. I too fscking lazy.

Then how can they label it as whole wheat if it isn't.

The same way they can say "No Trans Fat" when in reality the product contains, say, 0.4g per serving.

FDA labelling guidelines are very lax and rarely enforced.

Good luck. You'll probably have to purchase it at a health food store or other speciality retailer. Or make your own :D

Or is HFCS just a BS myth?

No, HFCS is no joke. I believe it is no coincidence that as HFCS has replaced Sugar and other sweeteners in almost everything today, diabetes and other health ailments have skyrocketed.

Diabetes has skyrocketed because overweight and obesity has skyrocketed. Correlation does not prove causation. Diabetes has a proven link to obesity. To try and claim the increase is caused by HFCS is absurd.

And again, the amount one would get from bread is very small. I have no idea if there really is any harm to heavy soda drinkers, since the amount they get is many, many, MANY times greater than I would ever get in my bread. (I don't drink any sweetened drinks... water only)

BTW, I have seen wheat breads in stores that use sugar instead of HFCS. I switched to one for nearly a year. I saw no difference in my body fat or weight gain/loss cycles. I'm a body builder, I monitor that very closely.
