:Q

I have (had?) a BH6, updated to the SS bios, installed my 566 @ 850 @ 1.8v and boom is all works great. 64 meg cl3 pc100 sdram, bh6 and the 566 on an MSI adapter card. (also a voodoo3 2000)

I play around, watch it reboot and the such, and put it away so that the next day I can install my hdd and other stuff.

No shame in that right? Quit while you're ahead? It all works fine, I set it in the corner of my room, with the case on and go to bed........

zzzzZZZZZZZZzzzzzzzzzzzz......

Wake up, next day, jump out of bed.

All happy, yay 850 is a big upgrade from a 300a @ 505. I plug it all in and start it up and look at the computer monitor to see:

NOTHING :|

WTF

tear it all apart 100 times a rebuild it. No beeps, all I can get is the keyboard lights stay on. Anyone know what the hell is going on?

Anyone else with a BH6 that upgraded to newest bios and have troubles?

I'm gonna go cry.... :(

Did you ever check to make sure the heatsink was making contact? I didn't see whether you did or not in that other thread. What kind of heatsink did you get? The kind with a thermal pad? If so, did you peel off the plastic sheet that covers the pad? Or did you scrap the thermal pad off? Did you happen to check the temp while the computer was working to make sure your heatsink was on there properly?

Yea the heatsink makes good contact.

It has that paste where you have to pull off the plastic first then put it on. It smudged on nicely.

And I did check out the bios too while it was working.

Fan was spinning at (don't ask why I remember this) 4757 rpm @ 27 degrees celcius. It fits nicely on the slot adapter, and stays cool.

ANyone else got any suggestions? Thanks for the attempt spoooooon
I'm gonna go cry more.

I had a bad Slotket adapter once that was intermittent. Later found out one of it's teenie resisters had come loose from it. How about trying a different slotket adapter just for the hell of it?

You've probably already tried this, but see what happens if you try turning it on with just the processor, ram, and a PCI vid card installed. Unplug all your drives, etc. Also, I'm pretty sure you can just try it with the CPU and vid card, leaving the RAM out. I don't know what else to say. It's possible that you just killed your processor. My highest overclock on my CPU was 864. And I can't do it again. I've tried the exact same settings, but it just won't POST. Before, it was stable enough to run some SiSoft stuff and QIII. I just overclocked to that speed for one day, got scared, and took it back down. And now I can't get it that high anymore. The fastest I've gotten is 810.

You got a magnifying glass? You're gonna need it to check it. That's what I used to solder mine back on. Friggen micro surgery! And it could be a fried diode or something that might not even show up. Swap another card in there or a different slot1 CPU to be sure.

its not that
its the fact that it worked one day and didn't the next
and no one was home to mess with it

I mean, it just sat there, with the case on!!
