I think the Colts could have scored 90 yesterday if they hadn't taken out the ENTIRE first string offense early in the 3rd quarter. This is still without Marvin Harrison, too. The rematch with the Pats in the playoffs will be very interesting.

it took them a few games, but the other receivers have finally stepped up in harrison's absense, and the colts are looking great now. can't wait for the rematch.

random interesting note, brady is no longer ahead of manning's record-breaking TD pace. he has 1 less TD than manning did at this time during his record season. of course, peyton's team slowed down because they had everything locked up, while the patriots are going to keep throwing the ball 50 times a game.

I've been saying for a while now the Colts will take the Patriots down in the playoffs, everyone is sleeping on the Colts because their coach doesn't drill into teams like the Patriots. I can't wait for this re-match - let's see what Peyton can do without the pressure/"monkey on his back" to win the Superbowl..

Colts played well, but Ravens were setup to fail. They completely blew their wad against the Patriots. Also I wasn't paying attention, but both corners were out/hurt early in the game for the Ravens? It really was predictable. That said, it's Colts and Patriots for the AFCG, should be fun in Foxboro :).

Maybe you were sleeping on the Colts, but I can't think of anyone else who was. The Colts will be repeat champions with an AFC title win over the Patriots. New England's demise will be their old, stagnating defensive team.

Yea, without McAllister and Rolle, its not surprising that the Colts blew them out, but still, they just completely rolled over them in all three aspects of the game. Very impressive. Anthony Gonzales is starting to flourish, the trio of Harrison/Wayne/Gonzales, with Clark and Addai as well, is pretty damn scary.

Maybe but what's the point? PM had 250yds and 4 TD's and was only 3min into the 3rd. No reason to risk it just to pad stats. Those DB's for the Ravens are going to have nightmares about having to face him again.

Obviously it was a very thinly veiled reference to what he and the Colts could have done if they were like the patriots and left the starters in all game, I understand why they took them out.

While I really enjoyed watching my team decimate the Ravens, I thought after the NE vs. Balt game it would be pretty lopsided. I think Balt put a ton of effort into beating the Pats*, lost, and came out against the Colts already deflated. Plus they were missing McAllister and Rolle, which very obviously hurt their coverage. The biggest deal to me was the emergence of Anthony Gonzalez as a real threat in the passing game. We've needed him to step up since Harrison sprained his knee. I'm imagining 4 wideout sets with Harrison, Wayne, Gonzo, Clark, and Addai coming out of the backfield.

I haven't given up on the the Pats yet to ruin my 2007 football season. My last hope is the Giants will somehow manage a win to spoil their undefeated season. And while the Colts looked incredibly dominating last night, when they face the Pats in the playoffs it's still anybody's game, as both teams know what it takes and both teams have the players to take it all.

You're right, only complete losers would keep their starting QB in in the 3rd and ESPECIALLY the 4th quarter to throw more touchdowns in a game that was obviously already won.

The Ravens were definitely exhausted after the loss to the Cheatriots*. The first three possessions which ended in a fumble, interception, and blocked punt for a safety didn't help at all. Couple that with the loss of two big defensive players, and you have a recipe for disaster.

I agree. I still think the Patriots will beat them in the playoffs, but this season is unfolding too much like 2003, 2004 in reverse for my liking. The Patriots have the hyped offense, they have all the headlines, blah blah blah. Meanwhile, the Colts are quietly winning, putting together a really solid season and nobody is giving them any respect. Plus, they have a running game.

Everytime someone places an asterisk after a Patroit' stat or name, a kitten dies.

Please, think of the kittens.

Plus plus, they have a pretty good defense this year, too. I don't think history is necessarily going to repeat itself. I think when you put Indy and NE on the same field, both teams totally healthy, it's a tossup as to who wins.

Rapidsnail, I'll be the last to criticize your use of the *, but damn. Are you a jets fan or something?

The Colts are a very complete team, both offensively and defensively. IMO, the only area that they are deficient is their special teams, and I think that's their special teams coaching more than anything.

assuming that the colts can beat the steelers (or other opponent ) to even get to that rematch.

Yes, of course, and also assuming the Patriots beat their opponent. Lets face it, the Steelers aren't very good on the road this year, they'll have a tough time in Foxboro OR Indy in the playoffs. Its clear that the Pats and Colts are the two best teams in the AFC, but naturally anything can happen. Maybe the Browns repeat the '05 Steelers :Q

The Steelers in the playoffs. Ugh. I don't mind Pittsburgh in the regular season, but they've crushed the Colts dreams too many times in recent memory in the playoffs. I'd rather face Jacksonville for a 3rd time, and that's saying something.

Except, Brady will probably break Mannings record next week against the Jets. And if not, the next week against Miami.

Moss will also break Rice's record for TDs by a WR.

The funny thing is up til yesterday, the Pats had been averaging 30 rushes / 35 passes a game.

I don't believe the Steelers will do much in the Playoffs. Not b/c of talent but due to coaching. Yesterday demonstrated that the Steelers coaching staff is not able to make adjustments during the game to win.

Maybe someone can shed some light on why the offensive line for the Patriots cannot seem to create running lanes. Maroney is a good back, but they just can't seem to give him much room to work. Even so, he had a few very strong runs against the Steelers. I think from here on out we're going to see Patriots offense ala 2001 - lots of screens and short passes to counteract teams trying to bring the heat on Brady.

The Steelers were stuck between a rock and a hard place. They couldn't allow Brady much time in the pocket because their secondary was pretty shaky. They also couldn't generate any pressure on him and, when successful, couldn't then compensate for the Pats throwing the quick screen passes to the outside.

Still, how anybody makes 5 catches in a row against your team is beyond me.
