I don't know what to think. I hope they don't make it for 7 year olds. WETA is good, but I hope it is an adult adaptation.

I never read the books, but I was drooling when I first saw that trailer.

The director is the same guy that did Shrek and Shrek 2 so I am a little concerned about the same thing. But the trailer leads me to believe that my fears are ill founded.

Nah they screwed it up and you can plainly see in the previews. Lampost Hill or whatever it's called doesn't exist until later in the books but the movie shows them first setting foot into Narnia through the warddrobe, right to the place.

Whatever.

Screw the movie.

The first time I ever heard of Narnia was when I saw the trailer for the movie.

It seems interesting, but I probably won't see it in the theatre. (<--- THEATRE, MUAHAH)

There's a thinly veiled Christian subtext.
That being said, I'm looking forward to it, though the trailer makes me usnsure whether I'll want my kids to see it... it looked SCARY...

If they try to do the whole series, I can't imagine how they'll do Voyage of the Dawn Treader... should be interesting.

I forget how that book went. All I remember about it was that they went on a boat to an island where they washed the dishes before they ate to save time afterwards. Also, didn't they fall off the edge of the earth and go to heaven or something?

Ordered the hardcover The Complete Chronicles of Narnia from Amazon.com a few days ago. $31.50 sure beats Borders price of $50. Probably take the nephews to see the film.

Dammit, another childhood memory ruined.

I remember those books a certain way - I'm not sure if I want to see the movie.

Then don't watch it.

I'm excited :) I love the series (have all 7 in boxed set), and read each of them many times over as a kid, but I'm sure they won't be able to do C.S. Lewis' books justice. Movies are rarely as good as the books, mainly because my imagination > the directors imagination. At least this looks better than those cheesy ones from the 80's.

I got the book from Costco that has all the Narnia books in it for my son awhile back. Ran out of things to read, so I've been reading it the past couple days. Like all movie translations, this movie should be only roughly based on the books. They have to drop a tremendous amount of information to fit books into the approximately 2 hour slot they have. It *is* irritating when they mix up the timeline, though. The Series of Unfortunate Events movie did that too.

I think the movie looks pretty interesting. I read the Lion Witch and Wardrobe about 20 years ago and don't remember a thing about them.

Umm..no.

Lampost Hill was created when Narnia was, if you've ever read Magician's Nephew.

I hope it does well so they make more from the series. I'd love to see The Horse and His Boy or Prince Caspian, two of my favorites. Not sure they could do Last Battle, as that was pretty far out there.
