Unsweetened bread with marzipan, apricot filling, sugar cream frosting with cardamon.

Christmas Eve dinner was turkey, garlic and queso fresco soup with aleppo pepper and saffron, vegetables with garlic yogurt dip, and baba ghanoush.

As pathetic as it sounds, I'm going to Norm's Restaurant and hoping they bring back the turkey dinner that they had for Thanksgiving.

For Christmas my GF is making homemade lasagna.

I have just finished making crock pot stuffing as an experiment. Its not bad at all. Still needs tweaking though.

For Boxing Day I am making turkey.

Tonight was from scratch Chicken Parm + spaghetti and salad. Desert was venetians (a petit four layer cake) - see below for example

Roast prime rib of beef, roast garlic potatoes, fresh crescent rolls, steamed brocolli, and a freshly-made sangria to wash it down with. For apps we had chilled shrimp, brie (which, for some reason, we must all eat now), and crackers.

Great. Now the asshole in my head is going to be yelling "baba ghanoush" in a ridiculous voice the rest of the night.

Started this morning with a 23 pound cut of beef, all trimmed up, 16-17 pounds went into the oven. Cooked to an almost perfect medium rare, and sliced very thin. I cooled it off and left it in a pan over ice water all day for guests - and a hot crockpot of au jus to dip it in for beef on weck sandwiches. (If you're not from Western NY, you have no idea what you're missing.) Since I knew 2 guests weren't fond of beef, I had 6 pounds of boneless ham all sliced up. Spent the latter part of the morning baking a couple of apple pies and a couple loaves of banana bread. HUGE feast for everyone all afternoon and evening.
