This is so awesome, I live on the 9th floor of a highrise and they're praticing . . . which means I am getting an airshow from my living room :) They are flying so low . . . I can make out every detail on these planes. Some F15's are doing formation runs around the city right now . . . they look so graceful but when you do the math they are going mind boggling fast . . . from behind the sears tower to in front of a highrise I know is about 2 miles away in something like 15 seconds (that's about a mile every 2 seconds . . .)

Yeah, I almost never go anymore because of that, and the last 4 years it's been the weekend I move back to college. I remember one year I complety forgot about the airshow and it was pouring rain. We were driving past the Gary airport and I was going "WTF, why the hell are there about 30 fighter jets parked on the tarmac?"

I caught it a few years ago, pretty cool.

They had B1s doing some fairly low altitude passes over the beach.

The only "airshow" in Chicago IMO is what Daley did to Meigs Field. :|

Interesting, there's one here in Nebraska this weekend too. They're practicing this afternoon, base is all of 1.5 miles away, and we're on top of one of the highest hills around... some really good pic opportunities, I may have to come up here with my camera tomorrow.
