I'd like to hook up my 360 to HD capable monitor of some kind. Can i just buy an 24" widescreen lcd computer monitor for $200 on black friday and use that and how would i do it? Thanks in advance for any help.

EDIT: I know that computer monitors are more than capable of showing HD video as i've seen it my self but i know that doesn't mean that it would be capable of showing HD content from an external device.

thats a horrible HDTV, 4:3 WTF?

Cough up $200 more bucks and get the 32" Westinghouse on BF.

Never ever EVER is buying a 4:3 HDTV a good idea or a good deal.

External device? Are you implying that a computer hooked up to a monitor is not external?

Well yeah. I consider the monitor/laptop screen to be part of a computers extended family if you will. An "Uncle" needed to function for most users. An Xbox360 is not a computer in the traditional sense and must be considered a device separate from a monitor like a DVD player, etc. I didn't even pay attention to the 4:3 but my budget is not all that large. The only computer monitors i see capable of getting HD content from external players are HPs and they are $700 and up. (on newegg at least)

um, the 360 has vga out and component out, so as long as the monitor you get has either of those two inputs it will work. An xbox 360 is just as "external" as a computer.

Why not just buy the Xbox 360 VGA cable? Then you can hook it up to any computer monitor you like.
