What cards would support 6 1080p monitors? Not for gaming.
SLI, Crossfire, single, ...
Anything goes.
Thanks for any tips.

i think only AMD supports 6 - any recent gpu from them should be ok provided you have a MST displayport hub

If single card, then only AMD can support more than 4. You'll need an eyefinity 6 port card or two 6xx series or better Nvidia cards. If not gaming than virtually any card will do that supports this many monitors and has the port types you need.

are you displaying lots of different video feeds at once? you'll need something different if that's the case

I thought two cards in SLI or CF should be able to do that.
Can monitors be connected to both cards?
Not all of our monitors are DP that's the reason I am checking if SLI/CF might work.

Another crazy idea might be to create a virtual desktop with 6 monitor resolution if that would be possible.
The screen capture assures the time synced data; it will be post processed and trans-coded after.
Thanks for the tips.

One video feed, the rest are data and charts from scopes.
I'll be doing a screen capture of the monitors.

ok with one video feed and data charts you'll be fine then.

when you get into multiple feeds each having their own virtual framebuffer that DXVA is rendering to on a composited desktop environment like Windows Vista/7 you run into problems. Because it renders to the virtual, then to that screen's composite, then to the entire screen real estate, and then out to the monitor; you basically double the video mem bandwidth utilized each time. IIRC. It's kinda like how Android's UI performance sucked until just a few generations ago.

if you wanted multiple video feeds (e.g. TMC operator), an active virtual monitor that gets split after the video card would be the way to go.

otherwise, no worries, printscreen still works with multiple monitors.

Actually, it's going to be a video screen capture using NCH Debut software.
