I won't be logging into this. The page is embedding http://webchat.xs4all.nl/cgi-bin/ircnet/irc.cgi. Interesting history with this provider: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/XS4ALL

Let's see...

- webchat cgi hosted in netherlands
- company originally associated with hackers group
- has directly pissed off Egypt
- irc servers obviously logging everything
- the html page that is wrapping the cgi is hosted on Jabry, a free web host, which:
- is regularly littered with malware -> http://support.clean-mx.de/clean-mx/viruses.php?domain=jabry.com
- OP has been registered for 2 1/2 years and only 320 posts, now inviting us to chat

Yea no.

Sorry OP, its not that I don't trust y.... actually yes, its that I don't trust you.

HOWEVER IT DOES NOT HIDE YOUR IP INFO!!!! (The one i posted does

)

1 reason why i dont like IRC is that your info is available..

XS4ALL used to be a bastion of liberty, before they got bought up by their current corporate overlords.

Still, I'd probably trust XS4ALL more than any other entity on the internet...

Anyway, no IRC, no go!

Awesome! Now we can flame each other in real time! No more sitting here hitting F5 after calling someone a douchebag. This is much more convenient.

The Internet doesn't work that way. :\

He probably means host-masking.
Usually the host name/address of a client is visible to all other users connected to the same network. As this is not always desirable, this can be obfuscated, so only the server itself knows the client addresses. This is of course only valid until a dcc session is established.
