The chances are slim as hell, 1) we have enough in the military right now 2) we barely use infantry anymore

Trust me...there are *plenty* of Army guys who are trying to be Rangers...

Maybe they'll target computer technicians instead of quarterbacks.

A draft will not happen (what were you people thinking)! Even if they did need people they wouldn't draft. They would ask for volunteers first, then if what they really needed was support people then they would hire more civilian employees (they did use some in the Gulf war) because if your just working behind a desk or computer it doesn't matter all that much.

Not only do we have something like 1 million people in the reserves and national guard, the Army (and probably the other services) require that you give up 8 years of your life for your country...that would be whatever your initial enlistment is PLUS the remaining number of years for the inactive reserves. In other words, if I joined for 5 years (which, incidentally, I did) then I would have 3 years of inactive reserve time when I got out. I would imagine that the powers that be would pull people from this group before resorting to a draft due to the fact that these people are already trained and probably just need a little refresher.
